Australian Poetry: A Tune-Up - Curse or Blessing?

61

By AuraGem

There is nothing worse than waiting...

There is nothing worse than waiting for some undefined time to pass

Waiting for the appointed tuning of

The car

~

Summer holidays

And for some strange reason

Mornington was singing

With free breezes from a glistening sea

And not the tangled colour

Of people

~

Quite a surprise

A relief

~

Wandered into a cafe

For some capuccino time

~

A tiny sparrow shared our moment

Watching thoughtfully

On a verandah chair

Gracefully accepting

A few stray crumbs

For the family at home

~

But the soul felt restless

Here

Was not

The place

Today

~

And so

We walked

Happening on

A deserted field

Laden with freshly mown grass

~

Only a seagull or two

Watched

Maybe

With interest

~

And we found

In a pocket

Of stubborn grass

By the fence

An old cricket ball

Ragged

Pale

Forgotten

~

We spaced

Far apart

But facing each other

Smiling

And we arched the ball

In a bridge-like curve

A vital rainbow of energy

Between

Two pylons

~

Over some indefinite time

There were

Many curves

Many curves and

Many rainbows

~

And all too soon

~

The car

Was tuned

Dear Aura,

I very much enjoyed your poem. Thank You for your beauty in words!

Now days, in my life, whether it be standing in a line at the grocery store or waiting on hold on a telelphone call, I take this time to ejnoy that precious moment. It is amazing to watch and listen, so many gifts to behold!

Whenever someone apologizes for the wait, I say to them, no worries, I consider this a time out, just for me.

Thanks for sharing!

Have a Dynamic Day!

Aura,

You, My Dear, are such a nice woman.

I thank you for your encouraging comments as well all of the wonderful information and beautiful poetry.

I do have one question....Is that really your Purple Car? (on greyscale)

lol yippity - it is a copy of my car - on the dealer's webpage! I love it and call it Gem! The purple colour absolutey glistens like deepest wine in the sunlight! (When it's perfectly clean, that is!)

lovely, aura. I loved your pocket of forgotten grass, how clear that way and the way the arc of throwing the faded ball turned into a rainbow. again, creating our own beauty. :)

gifts and miracles will always come to you as long as you open your eyes to them and I think you shall. I'm glad you had a lovely day and I'm glad you are the kind of person who knows how to create magic.

I just read out your comment to my hubby! He was touched! He sends you a virtual hug! lol A little diversion - He always seems to get drawn into counselling situations in chat rooms! But he loves it!
